Ake Grenvik, MD, PhD retires as WISER’s Research Director
On June 30, 2007, Ake Grenvik, MD, PhD will be stepping down from his position as Research Director for WISER. Dr. Grenvik has been one of the leading forces in the development of WISER and the institution it has grown to become today. With his guidance and mentoring, WISER has become one the leading simulation centers in the world.
On June 12, 2007, a retirement ceremony was held to honor Dr. Grenvik for his dedication to WISER. The event was highlighted by the presentation of the First Annual Ake Grenvik Award for Academic Excellence. This award is given to an individual who demonstrates Dr. Grenvik's desire for simulation based learning and research. This year's recipient was Dr. Michael DeVita. Dr. DeVita's commitment to simulation based learning is exemplified through his Crisis Team Training course at WISER. This course is beneficial to practical situations in the hospital.
The staff at WISER would like to thank Dr. Grenvik for all of his hard work and dedication to WISER.
