WISER is pleased to announce that it has teamed with the Society for Simulation in Healthcare and is now providing a one year membership to the Society for anyone that takes the following courses: Foundations in Simulation Module 1 or 2. The membership is valued at $125.
The Society for Simulation in Healthcare was created to represent the growing number of educators and researchers who are now using simulation based techniques and teaching. The Society is multi-disciplinary with ties to all medical specialties, nursing, allied health paramedical personnel, and industry. It continues to help with the improvement of patient healthcare.
Foundations in Simulation is a new course that is being offered at the WISER Institute. Module 1 has been created to assist people that are creating a new simulation center or updating an existing simulation center. Some of the topics that are covered in the course are: Designing your center, Creating an operational infrastructure, Budget considerations, and Simulators vs. Simulation. Module 2 is a one and half day course that is designed to assist individuals who are interested in programming and operating their Laerdal SimMan. Modes of Teaching, Utilizing SimMan, and Programming Scenarios are just a few of the objectives that are taught in this course.
