Our WISER staff spotlight this month is Kim Mitchell, Application Coordinator/QA Lead at WISER. Kim has been with WISER since January 2004.
Where did you work prior to coming to WISER?
Prior to WISER I worked at the University of Pittsburgh for 8 years, initially in training and documentation, then after completing my Master's degree in Information Science, I moved into programming and database management. I just celebrated my 20th anniversary as a staff member at the University of Pittsburgh. Prior to the University of Pittsburgh, I worked as a training specialist for an Information Technology Consultant and traveled extensively conducting classes.
Where do you see WISER in 10 years?
I expect that in 10 years WISER will still be on the cutting edge of medical simulation and research, striving to improve education, research and patient safety.
Tell us something about yourself that nobody would know walking through the doors of WISER and meeting you?
My older sister had triplets in 1988 when I was a senior in High School. I had mine (boys) in 2006 when her triplets were seniors in High School. The only "singleton" among the grandchildren is my daughter who was born in 2001. We have not met or heard of any other families with sisters both having triplets, but I would guess there are some out there.
