Korean Red Cross College of Nursing Opens New Spring Hospital

The Red Cross College of Nursing in Seoul, Korea recently celebrated the grand opening of it's new Spring Hospital located on the main campus. The Spring Hospital is a beautifully designed state of the art simulation facility designed to enhance the clinical education experience of its students. The center features simulated med-surg wards, intensive care, emergency department as well as an obstetrical labor and delivery suite in addition to a number of other simulation based education spaces. The center is complimented with a high tech audiovisual infrastructure package which allows for remote monitoring, recording and playback of simulation activities.
The Red Cross College of Nursing celebrated the grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony of the Spring Hospital the 4th International Symposium on Nursing Simulation and Disaster Education. The event featured over 100 nursing educators from across Korea who attended the all day symposium. Dr Phrampus presented a plenary keynote lecture on "The Assessment of the Use of Simulation in Nursing Education." There were a number of other featured speakers contributing expertise from the worlds of simulation and nursing disaster education from Japan, the United Kingdom and Miami, Florida. The morning was kicked off by an introductory lecture on "The State of Simulation in Korea" given by Dr. Tae Ho Liim, The President of the Korean Society for Simulation in Healthcare (KOSSH).
