Dr. Paul Phrampus, Director of WISER, presented the opening plenary session at the First Annual Meeting of the Korean Society for Simulation Healthcare held in Seoul, South Korea. The presentation was entitled "The Role of Simulation in Healthcare Education and Training";. The new Korean Society has well over 150 members dedicated to the multidisciplinary advancement and implementation of simulation to improve healthcare education and delivery to South Korea. Participants at this important inaugural meeting included representatives from nursing schools, medical schools, practicing professional nurses, practicing professional physicians and paramedics. This meeting set the stage for South Korea to further demonstrate its place in the world of simulation leaders. The day was a mixed combination of plenary sessions and breakout workshops aimed to help the participants further discuss their individual needs, set up collaborative forums and advance the efforts of simulation all across Korea.
