WISER holds Healthcare Simulation - Instructor Development Program for visiting delegation of nurses from South Korea
WISER recently held a Healthcare Simulation-Instructor Development Program course for a group of nurses that came from South Korea. The nurses represented many different nursing venues within the region. The course is three day program is designed as an introduction to fundamental skills and abilities for delivering simulation-based healthcare education through a variety of techniques and technologies. The program emphasizes hands-on activities and active participation to maximize simulation-based instruction skill acquisition. It is a joint program between WISER and the Gordon Center for Research and Medical Education (GCRME) at the University of Miami. While here, the group had the opportunity to tour the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing simulation center, this allowed them to not only see the WISER center but a smaller offsite simulation center as well.
