Dr Paul Phrampus, Director of WISER recently attended the grand opening of the Mrs. Lee Kong Chian Critical Care Nursing Simulation Center at the National University Hospital of Singapore. The new center was designed by and is led by Ms. Sabrina Koh, a senior nurse educator at the hospital with a deep interest in simulation. Ms. Koh had previously completed an internship at WISER.
On day 2 Dr Phrampus led a workshop in the new center. He began with a lecture focusing on the future of simulation in acute care environments. The 20 participants were then split into smaller groups for hands on exercises that featured an orientation to the SimMan 3G platform of simulation as well as how to use pre-programmed scenarios combined with integrated log file functionality to standardize the debriefing process.
Participants for the four day workshop included many educators from the National University Hospital of Singapore, Singapore General Hospital, the Singapore Military Training Institute and the Singapore Civil Defense Medic Training division.
