Children's Hospital Move Provides Pediatric Simulation with New Opportunities

On May 2, 2009 Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC moved to it's new location in Lawrenceville PA. Moving to the new hospital as well was the WISER Pediatric Simulation Satellite Center which contains new simulation suite and equipment. As with the Oakland campus, the WISER Pediatric Simulation Satellite Center has a state-of-the art simulation room, including complete audiovisual capabiliites, to serve the entire hospital. In addition, there is a PICU room equipped for simulation when not in use for patient care. Finally, a mobile simulation cart has been added to the equipment at the center. This will facilitate the ability to promote simulaiton education promptly and in any area of the hospital.
