WISER participates in Society for Obstetric Anesthesia and Perinatology Conference

On Wednesday, April 29th, 2009, WISER and physicians from Magee Women's Hospital of Pittsburgh participated in the annual SOAP Conference held at the Renaissance Hotel in Washington, D.C.
The Society for Obstetric Anesthesia and Perinatology (SOAP) was founded in 1968 to provide a forum for discussion of problems unique to the peripartum period. SOAP is comprised of anesthesiologists, obstetricians, pediatricians, and basic scientists who share an interest in the care of the pregnant patient and the newborn. The mission of the Society is to promote excellence in research and practice of obstetric anesthesiology and perinatology.
Manny Valejo, M.D., an anesthesiologist at Magee Women's Hospital and who is also on the SOAP board, along with Gabriella Gosman, M.D.; Rita Patel, M.D.; Ryan Romeo, M.D.; Patricia Dalby, M.D.; Jonathan Waters, M.D.; Hyagriv Simhan, M.D.; Karen Stein, RN, BSN, MSED, CCRN; Nancy Wise, RNC; Linda Dudas, RNC; and Vivian Petticord, RNC presented four different Obstetric Crisis Team Training scenarios from the course that is held at WISER.
