About the Course
This course teaches the basic skills of joint aspiration and injection of the knee and shoulder joints. Didactic training reviews the indications for and the contraindications to joint aspiration and injection, and the evidence favoring therapeutic steroid injections. Using synthetic knee and shoulder models the learner will master the psychomotor skills necessary to perform a posterior and a lateral approach to the subacromial bursa, locate the biceps tendon and the acromioclavicular joint, and aspirate "joint fluid" using either the medial or lateral approach to the knee joint. The trainee will be evaluated on both the cognitive and psychomotor components of the course.

When you register for a class you will be prompted to login. If you do not have a WISER user account, follow the instructions on the login screen to create an account. You can then register for a class after the account creation process is complete.
