Anesthesiology Elective: Advanced Airway Management
About the Course
The advanced airway management simulation begins with a workshop in which students learn about and practice the use of several advanced airway management tools: the Eschmann stylet (gum bougie), the intubating laryngeal mask airway, the esophageal-tracheal combitube and transtracheal jet ventilation. Each student will then put his/her skills into practice during a simulation in which he/she is required to manage a difficult airway, followed by a debriefing session. Students then complete an online feedback survey regarding the quality of this session.
