In September, Al Augustine from the UPMC Presbyterian Department of Respiratory Care and instructor at WISER, presented a lecture entitled "Simulation Technology in Respiratory Care" at the Annual Fall Healthcare Conference 2008. The conference was sponsored by the West Virginia Society for Respiratory Care. The lecture focused on the benefits of using simulation to enhance clinical education and competency verification in Respiratory Care. Also discussed were several ways to get started in medical simulation. The talk was very well received by over 100 students, educators and healthcare professionals.
