Description: |
This course provides the student nurse anesthetist with the opportunity to integrate NURSAN 2750 course content into the management of complex patients experiencing renal, hepatic, hematological or neurological pathology who present for surgery.
At the end of the session the participant will:
- Utilize principles of hepatorenal pathophysiology to manage patients for related procedures.
- Analyze data and apply principles of coagulation and blood component therapy to select a rational approach to the care of a patient with a coagulation abnormality.
- Utilize critical thinking and research based rationale to manage patients with specified neuro, hepatic, renal, or hematologic disease.
- Incorporate the principles of neurophysiologic monitoring into anesthetic management of selected patients.
- Demonstrate an understanding of the management of the difficult airway.
- Discuss the management of organ donors and recipients for transplantation.
